Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Bars

These Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Bars are the perfect thing if you want a chocolatey, gooey treat. They have the perfect amount of oatmeal and chocolate chips. I made them for my kids when they had friends over and they kept coming back for more. The pan did not last long. They are something I will definetly be making again!

Not only are they delicious but they are also very easy. I usually have all the ingredients since they are basic baking ingredients.

First put the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt into mixer bowl. Stir together, but do not turn the mixer on yet.

Next, add the oats and brown sugar to the bowl and stir to combine.

Melt the butter next, when melted, add to the bowl and turn mixer on, until all ingredients are combined.

Now add the eggs and vanilla. Mix until everything is combined.

Next add the chocolate chips, reserve some to top with. Mix briefly, just until chocolate chips are evenly distributed.

This is a good recipe to use when teaching children how to bake. Depending on their age there are many things they can go, measure ingredients, add them to the bowl, stir, use the mixer, add dough to the pan. Make sure to grease or spray the pan before adding dough!
