Vanilla Mint Body Scrub

My daughter loves anything with mint in it and I love anything with vanilla in it so we decided to combine our favorites and make vanilla mint body scrub. It is really easy and would make a great gift idea. It smells amazing and makes your body smooth. It even just looks pretty sitting on my bathroom counter, the color it turned out is amazing.

This is a great project to do with kids, my daughter is eleven and was able to help the whole time. She loved knowing she was making something that she would be able to use. We had everything we needed in our kitchen, there are not many ingredients in the scrub.

First we put the sugar in the bowl. Next we microwaved the coconut oil until it was all liquid. We combined those two until they were well mixed together.

Next we added a couple drops of green food coloring. It did not stain our skin when we used the scrub, but it gave the body scrub a nice mint green color. We mix everything together until it was well combined. Then we added the peppermint and vanilla extracts. You can use more or less, it is really up to your personal preference for how strong you would like them to smell. We could smell both the peppermint and vanilla in ours.

Next we filled our cute little jars. You can use any size jar you want, we choose short, wide ones so that it would be easy to get the scrub out of them and also so we could make several containers.

If you are giving away as a gift, a nice ribbon around the lid or a bow on top would be perfect!
