Tri Tip Sandwiches

Tri tip is one of the very few chunks of meat that I cook fast. It goes into a hot oven and only stays there for a short period of time. The first time I cooked it, I was very skeptical, I am used to cooking things like pot roast, which can cook all day. So to cook a huge chunk of meat under an hour? It did not seem right. But it is. It is so delicious. And it makes great leftovers, so buy a bigger one that you need.

I put the seasoning on the meat the night before and let in marinade over night. This works perfect. I only use one seasoning, Montreal steak seasoning, but you could use each individual seasoning also.

The first night I make tri tip, I usually serve some kind of potatoes with it and vegetables. The second night we always make sandwiches. Everyone can make their own how they like it, I like mine with just meat and cheese. You really do not need more than that, but use whatever you would like.

To reheat the meat, I simply put it in a pan with a little bit of beef broth, it heats up perfectly and does not dry out. If you try to reheat it without the beef broth it may be dry.
