Hatchimals Colleggtibles

Kids are always finding some new toy that they HAVE to have. This week, my son HAD to have Hatchimals colleggtibles. I was actually okay with this, they are much cheaper than the regular Hatchimals and since they do not actually hatch or do anything, there was no chance of his not working (I had read a lot about the regular Hatchimals having problems).

My son originally wanted to buy a regular Hatchimal around Christmas time, he had some money of his own to spend and we found one at the store. Yes, just one. We happened to walk by and see one Hatchimal sitting where it should not have been and he picked it up and was planning on buying it. We knew it would be his only chance until they restocked, which was suppose to be sometime after Christmas. Since it was his own money, I wanted him to decided for himself if this was what he wanted. It was not cheap so I explained to him he would have to play with it a lot in order to get his money's worth out of it. He started to be a little less sure of buying it and wanted to look around, so we kept the Hatchimal in the cart and looked at other toys and games. He finally decided to not buy it, while he thought it looked cool and he really wanted to hatch it, he decided it was too much money for what it was so he got a game instead.

Recently we saw miniature Hatchimals at the store, they are called colleggtibles and they are tiny. So far we have seen them being sold in two different sizes, a smaller set with two colleggtibles and a nest and the other is a larger set, it comes with 4 colleggtibles and one bonus figure. The nice thing about the larger package is, you can see one of the figures, so you can choose which one you like best. They are all so cute, it is very hard to decide. So far, we have bought one small pack and one large pack. The only complaint I would have is, they need to have a nest or two with the larger pack. My son loves the next but we only have one because it only comes with the smaller nest. Otherwise, they are a lot of fun.

The colleggtibles come with a paper that shows which group they are in and where they are from. It is fun to see where yours are from and how many you have from each group. My son also likes to look and see which one he wants next. The paper also says if they are common, rare, limited edition or ultra rare.

You "hatch" the eggs by rubbing the heart. When turns from purple to pink, it is time to push the egg in and start cracking it. Then you pull the egg away and see which character you got, it is fun to see the look on my son's face!

There are over 70 to collect, I am sure we will be buying more. My son loves little toys so these will fit right in with his other toys. They are pretty small so I would not get them for kids that still put things in their mouths. But if you have kids that like small toys and using their imagination, these are perfect. They provide fun while "hatching" then you can keep playing with the figures. We love them.
