16th Seduction Review

16th Seduction is the 16th book in the Women's Murder Club series. The books revolved around Lindsay Boxer and a few of her friends, they make up the Women's Murder Club. They work together to solve crimes that come across Lindsay's desk, she is a homicide detective for the San Fransisco Police Department. Her friend Cindy Thomas is a crime reporter for the San Fransisco Chronicle, Claire Washburn is the Chief Medical Examiner and Yuki Castellano is a district attorney. They like to meet for dinner to discuss the latest cases.

This book is my favorite so far. It wrapped up some issues from previous books so I feel like I have some answers now that were just questions before. I would recommend reading the books in order if you have not read the series before. You can just read this one but you will be missing some pretty important back history on why things are the way they are in this book. The book fills you in a little on previous story lines, but not enough in my mind.

The books are about Lindsay's professional life, along with her personal life. You learn a little bit more about each person in the Murder Club with each book. Lindsay's personal life has changed dramatically since the first book, that is why I recommend reading the books in order. Then you will have the full story and know what is going on. If you skip some you may be a little confused when past things are referred to. Also, things can change dramatically within the space of a book or two.

In the current book, 16th Seduction, Lindsay is caught at the scene of a horrible nightmare of a crime. She also experiences a horrifying experience in her personal life since her estranged husband Joe was with her and he was injured. I think this book shows the most of who Lindsay is and lets her personal life take a front and center position. All of the books include her personal life, of course, but this one seems to dive a little deeper and lets you know more about Lindsay and her home life.

This book is suspenseful because of the crime and her personal life so it is really hard t put it down. You want to keep reading "a little" more because the more you read, the more it leads to more questions and you wonder how things will end, professionally and personally.

I highly recommend this whole series, I love all the books. I love feeling like Lindsay and her friends are familiar and their characters keep building in each book. This is not a series where everything is also a happy ending, which makes it more realistic and I love that.

Here is a link for 16th Seduction and some of James Patterson's other new releases. I have read them all and highly recommend them. They are all great books and hard to put down.
