The People vs. Alex Cross Book Review

I was so excited when the release date for The People vs. Alex Cross was announced, I could not wait for this book! It did not disappoint, Alex has to go to court for his own trial and he is working a case that he is not authorized to work. He goes back to having his own business while he is waiting for the trial to get done and he remembers how much he likes that work.

Alex Cross is the main character in 26 books, he started off as a psychologist, then went into various forms of police work. He has worked for the Washington D.C. police department, and the F.B.I. He has solved all kinds of different crimes, including finding his own niece that went missing.

One of his most high profile cases is that of Gary Soneji, he has caused multiple problems for Cross, even now that he is dead, this leads to more problems for Cross.

This book has a twist to it that other Alex Cross books do not have. Alex himself is the focus of a criminal trial. He is accused of shooting several people, some fatally. He insists that he is innocent but the evidence does not support what he says. He knows he needs help and needs it fast so that he does not end up in prison for the rest of his life.

While awaiting trial, his best friend and former partner, John Sampson, gets him involved in a case that he is not suppose to be working but once he starts, he cannot stop. Several young girls have gone missing and he is convinced that he can help find them.

The trial takes a toll on Cross and his family. The evidence is against him, people start to question what the truth is. This is a book that will make you want to keep reading, things change fast and you just want to see what happens with each new development.

This is one of my favorite Alex Cross books, which says a lot because I love pretty much all of them! You can read this book without reading the others but it will make a lot more sense as you read it if you read the rest of the series first. This book does a good job of giving a good background for a lot of parts of the book, but it cannot include everything. It is a great series and I highly recommend it!
